German Program Returns

Deutschland continues to broadcast to OUR TOWN about German radio programs. Marilyn L. Friedel of Germania Broadcast writes, "The Germania Broadcast has returned to the air waves via WCLM-FM [101.9 on your dial] every Sunday from 11am to 1pm.  It is one of the oldest foreign language programs in the United States, and has been a favorite of young and old alike."

20,000 Expected to Take Part in German Outing

Twenty thousand persons are expected to attend the annual German summer festival today in the picnic grove at Riverview park, sponsored by the "Germania Broadcast," under the direction of William L. Klein. Children will be admitted free. A special children's program will be presented by Bruce Kamman, "Prof. Kaltenmeyer" of "Kaltenmeyer's Kindergarten."

25th Jubilee at Orchestra Hall

Germania Radio Program Marks Jubilee Friday

The Silver Jubilee festival of the Germania Broadcast of Chicago, one of the city's oldest foreign language programs, will be held in Orchestra Hall Friday. The program is heard on WGES at 8:30 p.m. weekdays and at 10:30am Sundays. Hermann Leopoldi, Viennese composer and entertainer, and Franziska Gaal, film and stage actress, will be featured on the program.
