George Hessburger, the popular orchestra leader and entertainer, was known to thousands of Germania Broadcast listeners.

"Bertha's brother, George Hessberger, arrived in Boston in 1923, and made his way to Chicago. He was a musician and became the director of the Bavarian Concert Orchestra. His wife, Paula Gunzel, and young son, Georg(e) Hessberger, Jr., emigrated in 1924. The family owned the Heidelberger Fass, later named Hessberger's, a Chicago restaurant that appears in the movie Groundhog Day." [source]
